Designed by Pelle Petterson who was then working at the Italian Frua. The P1800 was the second attempt by Volvo to penetrate the sportscar market. The first attempt – the P1900 – failed earlier. A white P1800 S with registration number ST-1 (Simon Templar-1) was used in the 60s in the hit TV series ‘The Saint’ starring Roger Moore as Simon Templar.
